Business Profile: Woods Equipment Company, Inc. is a U.S. based company that designs, manufactures and sells agricultural, landscape and construction equipment. Established in 1946, Woods Equipment is well known for producing high quality implements such as rotary cutters, tillers, loaders and backhoes for tractors and other utility vehicles.
Client Background: Woods learned of Colorwave and our ability to wrap the cutter through their advertising agency and long-time customer of ours, Ignition Studio, Inc. The “Old Glory” Batwing® wrap is one of many projects we’ve collaborated with the team at Ignition.
Objectives and Goals: Woods Equipment Company, Inc. employs several military veterans and was looking to directly support a deserving veteran now working in agriculture by donating the stars and stripes themed, 15-ft Batwing® cutter. By doing so, Woods inspires brand loyalty and positive publicity by combining the patriotic theme with the donation to a veteran and strengthens their image as a brand that embodies American values, creating deeper loyalty among customers who share these principles.
Challenges: The 15-ft Batwing® cutter is an irregularly shaped item and assembled by connecting left and right sections “wings” to the main body via hinges. The massive design needed to be printed, aligned and wrapped in sections since we could not access the main body with the wings attached. Once the main body is wrapped, coordination with the team at Woods would then attach each wing so our installers could continue. In addition to being a cumbersome obstacle, the Batwing® cutter is manufactured with a variety of connection points that protrude the surface and would need to be navigated carefully by our expert installers.
Graphic Solutions: The professionals at Ignition Studio, Inc. carefully measured the 15-ft Batwing® cutter and designed the ‘Old Glory’ graphics at 100% scale. Team CWG then used these measurements to determine the body and wing sections. Since the overall size of the design exceeded the width of the print material, each section was then tiled and included overlapping seams which were then aligned on site by our installers.
Results and Outcomes: Both Woods Equipment and Ignition Studio were thrilled with the final wrap as were team CWG! To learn more about the Woods® ‘Old Glory’ Batwing® Cutter and to whom the deserving veteran received it, please visit the following links:
“The coordination and dedication by everyone involved to see this one-of-a-kind, special project come to fruition was truly inspiring. It is a testament to the power of collaboration and creative vision, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results.”
